MUMABI. Salim Diwan has all the reasons to look forward to his upcoming film, Aliya Basu Gayab Hai. With only 3 characters shaping up the entire movie, working with his good friend, Vinay Pathak and portraying a character he was longing for, Salim decodes all. “Aliya Basu Gayab Hai has all the reasons for me to look upto this film. With only 3 characters in the entire film, played by Raima Sen, Vinay Pathak and me, there is alot of room to showcase worthy performance. Also Vinay is a good friend and he comes with alot of experience. There is always something new to learn from him. While talking to him you won’t realise when he will crack a joke. He is always in his witty mode which makes conversations pleasant with him”, says Salim all praises for his co actor.
Detailing on his performance in the movie Salim says, “Well this is something which I can truly say that the wait is worth for. Post my debut movie, Bollywood Dairies, this movie has come as a breather after a good 5 years”, he says. “When there are plenty of characters in a movie, this one stands out with only 3 characters, including mine in the entire film. Hence the scope of showcasing talent comes handy. I have given my best to this film, and I am hopeful people who will watch this movie will surely remember me for my role”, he says.
Ask him if he is an introvert in nature or atleast on social media, quick comes the reply, “Social media is a big platform. People use it for multi gains. A person who is not doing anything, can still be extremely active on social media. I don’t feel the unnecessary pressure to post just to be visible to the audience. I would rather use my social media account to convey something meaningful. Posting random content on social media is not my cup of tea and doesn’t excite me at all. I rather post something which makes sense to the world or some of my acting auditions for fellow followers”, he concludes. ‘Aliya Basu Gayab Hai’ will release next month and stars Raima Sen and Vinay Pathak alongside Salim Diwan.
